Landgren/ Danielsson/ Dell at Schloss Elmau

“First, all the ‘circumstances of place’ had to be considered. … no single spot is the main, important ‘point’ of the view, but they are all equally nice and the round panorama ‘works’ in all directions.” This are words that Ilya Kabakov wrote in the conceptual framing of his installation work “Music on the water” from 1994. Not only was it very unique to have had the chance to perform and record on this installation with Nils Landgren and Lars Danielson in 2004. Since Kabakov’s installation has been torn down, our musical contribution is one of the few reminders of the work. Whenever Nils, Lars and I get together and play within the same musical framework of open form, it is then at the same time a memento and an utopian outlook. The ritual received its continuation in Elmau last week and it will continue at Timmendorf Beach in June. Thank you Jost Kreitz for the pic.
