The Spinelli FreiRaumlab was very pleased to hold the international symposium on 12 and 13 July 2023, the concept of which was developed by Sally Below and Christopher Dell in cooperation with the Project Group Conversion City of Mannheim.

The symposium took take place within the framework of and the site at BUGA Mannheim.

We asked experts: What instruments does planning have to react appropriately to real developments in the city? How can it flexibly face urban diversity, make it available and experienceable? How can it unearth the treasures of the city? How can new collaborative processes emerge, and what practice spaces do we need for this?

The initiators of the Spinelli FreiRaumLab presented the network and its work in the plenary session on the morning of 13 July.
