On their visit to Nordhausen, the Wolfgang Haffner Trio will have prominent guests from the ACT cosmos on board. Swedish jazz singer Viktoria Tolstoy, vibraphonist Christopher Dell and Sebastian Studnitzky on trumpet will join the trio when they present their programme of original compositions as well as exciting interpretations of well-known jazz classics live in the theatre. This line-up is unique for Nordhausen, making it a premiere and certainly an absolute musical highlight.

Wolfgang Haffner is a gifted drummer, a fact that has long been recognised not only in the jazz world. Numerous prominent collaborations with a wide variety of artists and bands in which he has left his mark, both nationally and internationally, speak for themselves. Today, the two-time ECHO Jazz Award winner is without doubt the best-known German drummer and at the same time one of the few German musicians who are also successful worldwide.
In his long-standing Wolfgang Haffner Trio, he is joined by two exceptional local musicians, Simon Oslender (keys) and Thomas Stieger (bass). Simon Oslender is regarded as one of the shooting stars of the German jazz scene. His debut ‘About Time’ immediately made it into the top 10 of the German jazz charts. He is a member of Bill Evans & the Spykillers and has already toured Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia in his still young career. Thomas Stieger is one of Germany’s leading bassists. He first toured Southeast Asia with Wolfgang Haffner’s band in 2019. Stieger has provided the foundation for Sarah Connor’s band for years, and the Berliner-by-choice is also a sought-after session musician.
